Free parts, but what should I do?

Well my friends girlfriends boss has a Prelude, don't know what year but 97+. Anyways he's selling his prelude and needs stock parts to put back on it. He got AEM cai, DC Sports headers, and a Greddy Evo. He want's to trade me for my stock parts for the cai, headers, and exhaust? What should I do? It sounds like a good deal but the last time I traded stock parts for aftermarket parts on my civic, I got fix-it tickets and didn't have the stock parts to put back on when I had to see the state ref and had to buy it. That's one of reason's I'm hesitating on this trade. Also I know there's different applications on the base lude and SH. I know the cai will fit for sure but I don't think the headers and exhaust will fit. Can anyone help me out on this? Can you give me some opinions on what you guys would do and info if the parts will fit or not? I'd appreciate anyone's help on this.

all the components you listed are carb approved. so it shouldn't be a big deal if you have to go to the state ref. If you're getting them free, then its to your advantage to get em! you would need to go to a muffler shop and have them weld on an extension piece so that the header + muffler fit. Any shop can do it.

Yeah, you shouldnt have fix it tix with those parts. The only one I know of might be the header as they are different between base and sh.

I'd go for it... worst comes to worst you can probably trade someone for there stock + plus if you do get fix-it tickets (shouldn't get fix-it ticket for something that isn't broke as far as i'm concerned)

the exhausts are different but I have heard of people modifying them to work...

can't complain about FREE mods

i do know that if you take it to any muffler shop in the bay area they can make it work for you for about $50-100. Just bring them the stuff installed, tell em whats wrong and bam, done in an hour.

when you install the parts, you'll see that the header and exhaust don't meet or stretch too far. I'm sure its the earlier point i mentioned. easy as that.
