Fracture lines of any kind on metal arent good. Maybe its time to look into replacing it. I wrote a post on here about metal fatigue when I first joined. I explained about the difference between stress fractures and fatigue cracks. My guess is, off hand, you would be seeing fatigue cracks forming on the part. Eventually these fractures can join up and the part will fail. Or they could form enough to weaken the part and then it will fail through a combination of fatigue (first), and then a finally a stress fracture.
If youd like to read more search for my original post it was about Crower Stage II cams that failed due to fatigue fractures.
