Electrical problems...

OKAY,

My car is currently doing this weird thing while im driving. While im going my gauge cluster lights, clock, and fuel/temp gauge pulse and dim. When I turn my stereo up loud, the lights will dim to the music, and sometimes it will just not get enough power and shut off and turn back on (doesn't do it when i have it on low volume) And i do not have a system. stock speakers w/ alpine deck. Sometimes my xenon bulbs will flicker. And when I shut my vehicle off my driver side bulb will flicker and turn off while the other one stays lit.

Things I have had done.

Battery is a year old.
Alternator 2 months old.
Starter is 1 month old. (had starting problems still, discovered the relay for my ignition cut off was bad, a simple splice of a wire solved that.)

I had a diagnostic done from one mechanic. He is convinced its the alternator.
I took my lude to where I had the current alternator put on. They say its not, pep boys tested it and it passed every test. They are replacing it friday though just becuase its under warrenty.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a bad ground. It sounds like something pretty minor as well, since the gauges and lights don't completely die, but just somewhat flicker for a second, that tell sme that there is a very short disconnection, so there may be only one wire that may be frayed or something. Try looking at the fuses, I have seen fuses that were good, but coroded(that was on a very old car, though). A fuse could be either falling out, or the element within the fuse is just about to go out, causing short disconnections of some sort. However, I am no wiring guru.

Good luck.

I am betting that the alternator belt is slipping when its under load. Tighten the hell out of it, and see if you still have a problem. You may not be able to hear it slipping because you have the radio cranked when it would be slipping.

Also check the ground and power to the alternator and battery, the problem is alternator related somehow, its pulsing because you are using power from the battery faster than the alternator can replace it.
