Early Product Review.

Well yesterday I went through hopefully what was the last stage of my mods phase (for this season atleast) . The products installed were:

1) Energy Suspention engine mounds
2) Fidanza 8.5lbs flywheel
3) ACT full clutch kit
4) Neuspeed short shifter kit

Keep in mind this is a very early review. The full potential of these mods can only be discovered once I have past the 1000km break-in period. For now I cant pass over 3K rpm. SO NO VTEC for now and only up untill 50% throttle position until now. So no WOT.

About the install. If you think the installs are plug and play forget about it. If you think you can do them yourself thats out of the question without the proper tools and a hoist. Let me tell you, the entire front end of the car is litarally taken apart, suspention, structural bracing and even the entire motor is jacked up. So if you ever do this kind of mod and your squimish don't watch this procedure. OK so on with the review.

1) Energy Suspention engine mounds:
WHOA, what a difference. My car is an ANIMO. when I first started the motor I litaraly jumped out of my seat. It's like I had a small V8 tossed in the engine bay. I can't wait to launch the car at the track now. My car is so sturdy now. It compliments my suspention mods very nicely. Even on easy take offs like now and shifting you can feel the torque being transfered to the wheels. For those who doen't know what these mounds do here is a short summary. When you stomp on the pedal and go WOT the engine rotates somewhat backwards. Thus you loose whp and torque. Cause it is being absorbed by the rotation of the motor. Whell now there is no rotation with the new mounds. So something has to give. And that rotation now is planted to the wheels. Thus a much more torque feel of the line. However a full review will be given on the mounds once the 1K mark has been reached.

Benefits: More Torque off the line and once engaging the gear shift.

Disadvantages: Alot of vibration when at idle. Personally I love it. It reminds me of my old Abarth Autobianchi. I'm the type that needs to feel everything on the road and what is transfered from the motor. So I'm cool with it.

2) Fidanza 8.5lbs flywheel:
Once more I can't tell you how much I gained from this. But I did for sure beacause everyone that has installed it has. Once I pass the 3000rpm barrier I'll see how much this puppy helps acceleration. For now at 50% Throttle I can feel the difference. It does help the rpms rise faster and accelaration is sweet. I'll give the rest on this after 1000km.

3) ACT Heavy Duty Clutch:
This is whats holding me back right now from tearing up the streets in VTEC. 1000km break-in required. But I finally found a ctutch that feels good. It grabs fast, the pedal is much stiffer and the pedal travel is much less with absolutely no dead space travel. We'll see at the track how this grabs.

4) Neuspeed short shifter kit:
Think of ITR, S2K shifters. Well thats what I got now. The shifting is so tight now. Just click, click. Travel and throws are much smaller. Gear engagment is awsome but I beleive this is in conjunction with the new tranny fluid and clutch.

Don't bother asking prices cause:
1) We get Toronto Prelude Club prices = a bargain
2) Canada

Around 65 Canadian. So something like 40 US. But to install them you have to pull the tranny to get to the rear mount. So you might aswell go all out.

When you remove the motor mounts to put in the inserts, what do u use to support the engine and lift it a little?? I don't have a hoist and was wondering if i can use just a jack and wooden board put under my oil pan?? Or is there another jack point i can use on the engine??

How hard was the install of the mounts? Is it easier when you you are doing the clutch/flywheel install?
