Does a clutch take after it's owner

I recently bought a 2001 lude 5 speed. The car only has 23,000 miles. For some reason, I cannot get comfortable with the clutch after 1,000 miles, which is odd as I have been driving manuals for too many years. It seem the only comfortable shift point is about 4,000 RPM and up. Below that, there is often some hesitation. There is no slipping. Any hints...

Likely not a clutch issue.. does it have an H22 in it?
If so, they're known for having some hesitation issues.
Check out my thread on this issue and some suggestions that some members gave me.
Frustrated with my h22...

yes it has an h22 lol.
try changing the tranny fluid, may have some water and/or sludge buildup. 2k1 with that low of miles might do it. Might as well bleed out the clutch while you're there.

I don't think it's a clutch issue, I have also been driving standard transmission cars for years and my Prelude at first seemed kinda jerky with hesitation, but at 4K or above it is really smooth, I just go with the flow.

That's most definitely a hesitation issue. Check ignition system, wires, etc.
I had the same problem a number of years ago and it turned out to the a slight tear in one of the plug wire boots.
