Discount Tire Center in El Monte...Reputable??

Well basically i ordered some advans around early June and Vic personally told me that he had an order for the exact rim size and offset coming in before i made the order. So i put a $700 down payment and have been waiting ever since. Everytime i come in he says "Oh they're not in yet. Chek back in 2 weeks. " I've heard that same line twice already. It is now almost the end of July and I desperately need these rims by AT MOST early August because i need them for a show. Is there anyone on this board that has ordered from this place and tell me how long the average wait was? In this case someone who has ordered Advans. Thanks alot guys.

Sincerely pissed,
-Kev

Sounds like you should have ordered these before show season and not right in the middle when everyone else is trying to get the same stuff. No offense, just trying to make a point.

OK...well yea pretty much that would be the case if i was going to a body shop and requesting major body work like a month before a show, but i'm talking about rims here and even if that were the case, i highly doubt that these rims are some wheels that "everyone else" is trying to get. Also these are coming directly from Japan through containers that are brought in every 2 weeks or so. Don't take this message the wrong way, i know what you were trying to say..it just didn't answer my question directly.

Basically i'm pretty much asking the reputation of (Discount Tire Center a.k.a WheelOptions.com) from anyone who knows. And whoever has ever ordered rims (mainly japan imports) from this place receive them in a decent amount of time? Since i am waiting about 5-6 weeks and counting. Thanks.

I have ordered tires a couple of times from Discount Tire Direct, are you talking about the same place? I have never had any trouble with them at all, actually I would suggest them.

I personally would never deal with them. The'v been giving me the runaround for a while now on a set of rims I was planning to get saying that first they could get them, then that they were not available in my lug pattern. Basically alot of BS that you are getting right now taking aproximately 2 months of my time. I instead decided to go to my friend who does the dealing for me since he can get pretty much whatever I need and is a lot less shady.

It take awhile for ADVANS, you should look into Volks or Racing Harts

MEGA_BB6_Turbo,

Average waiting period on Advan wheels is supposedly 3 to 6 months. I waited 6 months for my Advan Kreuzer Series 5 rims and the wait could have been longer if not for one of the sales reps. who actually had to go to Japan himself and do a in-person pick up of my rims and several other clients who have been waiting longer than me.

Advan rims are in high demand in Japan and the rate at which Advan (Yokohama) makes the rims is not satisfying the demands. Another thing is US buyers of Advan rims are placed last on the list compared to the other buyers from Japan and different parts of the world.

I really hope you get your rims before the show but considering that its taking longer than expected your better off looking for a nother set of rims. Good luck!

BTW, what rims did you order? Advan RG? Kruezer Series 5 or 10?
