I believe that the Fidanza and Clutchmasters flywheel are one in the same.

Fidanza has fixed their problem with their flywheels. I already have one of the new ones. They but a bearing in the center.

Is it right that a lightened flywheel hinders the top speed of the car??

71dsp, what problem did Fidanza have with their flywheel? I have one but didn't hear anything about it.

It doesn't affect the top speed at all.

From what I know, Fidanza made the center bore too small. I noticed this when I installed mine, as it slid on pretty tight. Anyway, the flywheel supposedly galls the crank a bit because of this problem. It can also cause clutch disengagement problems (seems to only happen on the track when you heat the clutch a good bit). I have no idea what happened with mine, as Larry found out I had one of the original Fidanza flywheels, and immedately sent it back and got me a new one (and I didn't even ask him to!).

so the clutchmasters are made by fidanza or the fidanza are made by clutchmasters?

this clutchmasters is anodized blue for some reason, at least in their picture. so i should just ask whether this is the newer model before buying? would you have a new part number for it? and when did the new flywheels start coming out?

thanks for your help yo

71DSP: How do you tell if you have one of the old or one of the new flywheels? I've had mine sitting around for about a year now just waiting for the stock clutch to die so I can put both in at the same time. I've tried to contact Fidanza and they never responded to my e-mails.

Yes, my new flywheel had the bearing.

I was happy with its performance, just upset that the center melted down. Since it has the bearing now, that shouldn't be an issue.

You'll never want a stock flywheel after you have this one!

you can *kill* your clutch in a matter of minutes, IF you really wanted to.

Look at the center bore and see if there is a bearing in it. No bearing = old flywheel.

Larry sent mine in for me with no receipt, and I got a brand new one for free (well, I paid for shipping). As for other models, it depends on the design.
