Chi-Town Luders really beginning to piss me off!!!! - Honda Prelude Forum

Is there really only a few hardcore Luders in Chicago??? It sure seems that way. Whenever someone tries to organize a meet, they are pretty small. Last one we had 12 or 13, but this was a big exception. I just can't believe that all that hard work and money has gone into your rides and you don't have any interest in testing it out!!! There is so many upcoming events in Chicago-land and I would really like to see some enthusiasm when it comes to "REPRESENTING..."....Did anyone see the Toronto Prelude Club video? We could have something as cool as that too! Or better...C'Mon ya'll Toronto represents, we can too!!!

Props to Hawks10 for continuous efforts to bring Chicago Luders together by organizing meets and out temporary website...Also "James, Jason, Eric, John" for "Representing!!!

Be patient brotha. TPC has been around for two years. From what I understand CPC has been around a few months. Correct me if I'm wrong. With time they will come. Also check out TPC's site at www.hondaprelude.to and .ca You guys need something like that. I love PO.com but TPC is my home first then PO.com. I think the same applies to the other TPC members. You guys have to try something similar. Also try to coordinate other events other than just on the Lude. We hook up on weekly bassis. Many of us over 10 go out to bars, clubs movies and stuff together. We have made mare attempts do fine common interests than just the lude alone.

You are correct, somewhat!!! I have been trying to unite Chicago Luders for almost 3 years...It is only in the last 6 months that 2 other Hardcore Luders stepped up to help my crusade...Hawks10 & Mugenlude...
It also frustrates me that there is over 6 million people in the Tri-state area, and we have trouble putting 15 or 20 together for a meet!

If they have the "Every man for themself" attitude it's gonna be tough to get a good showup or coordinate succesfull events. At TPC that doesnt exists. When I need help and make a post I get people begging to come help me out within minutes of that post. One guy learnes off the other in TPC and it's free. ie some one installed my headers. I learned and now I'm installing someone elses this weekend. It's gonna cost him some bruskies though.

Also affiliate pricing helps. The TPC admins have created TPC affiliate shops. So a TPC member gets what they want at a discount. And I mean good discounts. Crazy prices. If they cant realize the savings alone then there hopeless.

I try to make it to as many meets as possible but I do have a life outside of Prelude stuff (not much but still.. heh...

Hey man, some of us work full time and go to school full time on the weekends & weeknights too =)

Hell, some of us even have a wedding to sweat about...

But GreekLude's right, in due time, ppl will come out.

I'll be done with school in Oct, wedding will be over in July and once I learn how to make basic sushi, I'm gamed because I really do wanna learn how to launch and auto-x =)

You think Chicago is bad, try coming out to the DC/MD/VA area and trying to plan a meet. 12-13 Ludes at one attendance here would actually be a major accomplishment. No one wants to do jack except street race or hang out at the Barnes & Noble...no track events, no dyno days, no meet & greets. I entered the Import Wars car show to help out a local cal club that needed 1-2 more people to register in order to fill the group requirements, and now they fu@kin bailed on me, so as of now, I'm the only car entered (I'll be damned if I represent a club I'm not even a part of if they don't even have the decency to show up and represent themselves). I didn't even want to go in the first damn place.

I would start hanging out with the Eclipse crowd, but as we know, they have a "Honduh" complex

, and only like to go to Dave & Busters. So as of now, the only Prelude meet I show up to is the one in my driveway.

Greeklude you are right, the CPC has only been around a few months...we have a pretty successful Yahoo Group in which we have about 60 members (check my sig) and we have frequent posts. We also have a couple guys who have hookups at shops and stuff so that helps. We are getting a website built now, a fellow CPC member volunteered (thanks Jeff a.k.a lamboman13) to make it cause that is his profession I think....it should be done soon. And Clint...I honestly believe we can get 25+ people to the summer meet the day of Hot Import Nights, I am gonna send an email to every registered luder in the midwest (thanks to hp.com) and see how that goes. Take some pride in knowing that there are a few others like you who want to get this going...you, me, and Jason (mugenlude a.k.a buffet300) are really into this....it should be hoppin' by summer....I hope!!!

PS....Clint, I have two links in my sig, one is the message board we use, and the other is the website that is being built, check it out but none of the links work, it is just the front page for now)

Oh yeah, Clint, I just made you a moderater of the Yahoo Group....maybe that will help lighten up your mood!!!! Jason is a mod too....

I think overall people in Chicago just have a bad attitude...#2 reason why I'm moving to So. Cal in 2004!!!#1 is the obvious, the weather!!!

Honestly, I was in LA/Westmingster last summer, CA is the BOMB, no kidding man, it's so nice over there =)
I drove to San Diego and the ride was beautiful man... I can why ppl go west and don't come back

We just need to promote more... so ppl with time can come out

So. Cali sucks too...I've tried several times to get people to meet up at the track, so far the biggest turnout was about 6 people.

IF there is an AutoX meet or something... I am in. otherwise, it is quite pointless to do meet in the parking lot.. and chit-chat.. IMO.

hey wassup guys! My name is James, and im still in H.S. and i've been really busy lately with school and all..but after the a.p.'s and act's roll around the corner, ill be 100 percent dedicated to CPC....im already a member there but its really diffuclut working the site...well for me ne wayz =p.... but yeah, it'd be great to meet all of you guys, especially Clint b/c he also has a 4th Gen=p..but ill defintely try to make all the events and meets....

Yeah, well the CPC website isnt done yet, that is why nothing works...that is why we are all using the Yahoo group for the message board and all that...I suggest you sign up there so you can get teh emails....

YWWONG and anyone else interested, the next meet, which is next weekend on the 21st, IS an autox!!! I really really hope that you can make it!!! It'd be nice to see a lot of ludes running in the autox!!! There are 4 of us for sure that will be autoxing. Hope you can make it!

like where, what time? direction? etc.. i am not going to autoX.. (no helmet, preparation etc) but it is sure nice to watch you guys run!
