Good luck on that one, no one here seems to be in to aftermarket stereo equipment, I'd rather have the OEM optional gathers set up. Just letting you know though that the CF trunk will be 100% looks, it doesn't weigh much less than the OEM one.

Sorry I dont have an answer for you on the sub issue...but my trunk is way lighter than the stock one...so much so that until I got the spoiler mounted on it, I was afraid to open it from the inside because it would shoot up so fast.

On the subject of the sub, I'd have a stock 6x9 sub port, or make one using a 6.5" speaker grill...that way the air in the trunk has a way to escape without having the backseat down...

Carbon fiber is harder than steel, and it's more flexible. You could literally hit it with a sledge hammer and it probably wouldn't break. You'll be fine with a sub in a cf trunk, although it may rattle worse than the stock trunk lid because it's lighter and more flexible.

And about the comment that a cf trunk isn't lighter than the steel stock piece? Common sense says otherwise. Is the weight difference enough to matter? Probably not, but it's definitely lighter.

^depends, some parts just have CF weave over it so it's not really anything different.

Of course it's lighter but what I was getting at was the price vs the minimal weight loss. You can do things to shed way more weight that will cost you nothing and be more practical. IMO the only CF pieces worth buying are doors, hoods depend on the car which for a Prelude does have a heavy hood but the trunk is hardly going to dent the car's overall weight.

For what people spend on a CF trunk I bought a modified Euro R mani from Rosko with a 68mm TB and gained far more than what I would have with a couple of extra pounds lost.

I never seen whole panels wrapped in cf, just the gas door, trim pieces, and interior stuff. Your right though, those parts actually ad weight. Not enough to matter, but still.

That's not what you said before the edit.

CF is more for looks than anything else on a street car anyway. It's also often cheaper or about the same price as buying stock parts and getting them painted (that's why I have a CF hood anyway, not just to cut weight).
