i kno lil bout cf hoods..but ppl told me they move alot..but i dunt understand how they can move if they are bolted onto the car like the stock one..can anyone plz give me some info? thanks
I hit 100+ w/o hood pin on my VIS invader but still i would recommend hood pin if you are going to go on the highway. My start to spread its wing around 80mph already. Yes I have hood pin in my room but haven't have time to install it yet. Like everyone said it move because it so light compare to stock hood and air trap under neath so its pushes the hood up that the reason why its seems like it might fly off.
I've hit about 100 or so for < 5 min. and averaged around 80-90 on the freeway for a 4 hr trip and the hood didn't fly off. The hood was bouncing around a bit, so I guess if you constantly go that fast, maybe get pins.

Just buy & install the pins...you'll be glad you did, b/c we've all heard plenty of stories of peoples' hoods flying up...that's not a good thing.

This may sound stupid, but Ive always seen hood pins on the top of the hood, but what do they attach to underneath to keep them from flying off? I dont quite understand how they work...boy I must sound stupid...hehe
Do the hood pins usually come with the CF hood, or need to buy separately?

It depends, not all pins are the same. Mine has a a large bolt that you lock up through the radiator support and through a hole drilled in the hood. Then, when you put the hood down, the bolt goes through the hole and there is a small pin you push down into the bolt (it has a hole like a threading needle, just much larger, for the pin to push into). Next time I'm home and I have a camera I'll take pics of this.
The nice thing about where mine are is that the holes are already in the radiator support bar. You just put the bolt (its about 3-4" long I think), tighten the locking nut underneath the radiator bar, and drill your holes in the CF hood (watching that happen hurt). They then punch down the pins on top and your set.
Heres a pic of where mine are:

Never seen hoods come with pins before. You usually have to buy them separately.
They move around because they use cheap carbon fiber to make most automotive accessories. Good carbon fiber is incredibly strong and inflexible, more so than steel.

Are you sure about that? I mean, this **** is strong. I think it was VIS or Fiber Images that had the video's of people jumping on it, driving over it, etc. and it didn't break at all.
It moves around because it is so light. Stock hood weighs ~50 lbs. Vis weighs around 18 lbs, FI weighs like 16. Thats more than a 60% reduction in weight.
