Haha I know how it is...on my old teggy I had a cf hood and he was like wtf is that!?!? He said you better not do that to your new car...I'm like sure ...(thats why I didn't tell him that I purchased one...I'm waiting for it to be delivered and installed). OMG I'm gonna get my arsed kicked!
Originally posted by Mr.Flash my dad has benn b!tching about my carbonfiber hood, he says that it will attract cops and my car is gonna get vandalized, but since i got rid of my regular hood i cant do nothing about, but i had an idea, if u guys want my hood and u could give me yours, its gotta be pearl white (dont worry if u dont have a white one, read on) and pay me a little (just a little) then i would be happy. i want to see if i get any offers on this, i am not sure if i wanna do this yet, either. I might make my dad let me keep the hood. so respond if anybody wants it.
NO SHIPPING, i live in SF, CALI, the hood is brand new not even on my car yet. No hood pins required, its a latch.
if u dont have a pearl white hood you could paint it. i know a very good bodyshop that will do it for pretty cheap.
my car is 2001 so i want the hood to have absolutely no scratches.(maybe little ones, the ones u cant see)
ITS MY LOSS AND UR GAIN!!!!!
hate my dad now
thanks bye
i don't mean to like get anybody madd for tryin to get the CF hood but why don't you just paint your hood? i know it kinda ruins it cuz no ones gonna know its carbon fiber but hey...at least it'll be lighter...just a suggestions..i know people are gonna think its dumb but now you can make it into a sleeper car
since you guys say that the carbon fiber is soo light do you think it is posible to sand down the OEM hood? like sand the metal from the underside to make it lighter... just someting to think about

the paint on the underside of the hood is heat protectant too. if you sand it and metal from the underside - paint on top will get fuct by engine heat.
NOOOOOO i am not painting my cf hood white then there would be no point, i got it just for looks, its like THAT lighter than the regular hood. IT LOOKS COOl
i will keep u posted

carbon fiber hoods were designed as a weight saving device. plenty of RACE CARS have carbon fiber hoods, but you can't tell because THEY are PAINTED. If you paint it, you'll get the weight savings the hood was DESIGNED for and your dad will get off your case and cops and theives and everybody else is more likely to leave your car alone

Cmon now Sammuel
don't ya know that 98 white isn't the same as 99+ ?
come on like 15 even 30 pounds not going to give my car a lot of acceleration. the race cars are made entirely out of carbonfiber not all but some race cars. the acrbon hood that we get dont even stand up to 100+ cruising, they start to shake. (but some are made really good, so they are an exception.) and i am not painting my hood
