car maintenance

I am due for my type 2 service for my 5th gen which includes inspecting tie rod ends, steering gear box and boots, suspension components, and driveshaft boots. My question is if the car is running great is it really necessary for this type of inspection? and can this inspection possibly prevent further repairs down the road?

that seems like a general inspection........if you can jack up your car......you could basically do it yourself

how many miles on the car?

I have 84000 km on it..the way I look at it for this type of maintenance is if its not broke don't fix it..what I mean is if something feels or sounds off then get it checked out
