just out of curiousity, you didn't put a crappy tank of gas in, did you? does the light only come on when you're on the freeway?

Do a search here on "additive" and you will come up with all kinds of info.

In short, put oil in your crankcase and fuel in your tank. No additives.

Yes, the fuel additive could be your problem. What was it?

Also, what octane fuel do you normally put in?

All that stuff is crap but I'm not sure it would have caused your problem. Did you treat a full tank of gas or double up on it or do a half tank or something?

How many miles do you have on the car and what maintenence has been done to it (aside from fluid changes)?

well, i agree with todd that it shouldn't have caused your problem.

HOWEVER

the knock sensor system light comes on at times for reasons that don't really have to do with it being broken. the most common is that the engine is knocking, the computer retards timing to make it go away, it doesn't go away, and so the light comes on because the computer wrongly assumes that the knock sensor is hearing false knocking.

drive until you have a gallon or so of gas left, put in a full tank (a full tank is 15.9), change the oil, reset the computer (disconnect the battery for a bit, make sure you have your radio code), and see if that helps.

on 93 octane you DO NOT NEED any additives!

thanx...I'm getting a obd tune up within a week as part of a recall...so the oil will be changed then! I just gotta figure out why the car keeps turning off in the morning(it happened 6 times this morning in the time span of 20 minz) It must be the alternator......right?

Turning off? Before we can help you you should summarize all your symptoms and when they happen, then answer the questions we've asked!

I suspect that the problem is something simple, probably maintenence-related, that has been neglected.

sudden turn-off:
alternator
distributor
fuel pressure
battery
maybe more...

Well...the car only turns off in the morning time..when its been resting overnight! After that its fine for the rest of the day! Like I said the dealer told me that the radiator doesnt seem to be working! But...I wonder how how they can tell if the radiator isnt working just by a test driving the car and the car not overheating?!?

BTW...I have to wait for 1 week until my next appointment with the dealer..so I have to drive around in limp mode with my engine and ATTS light on! Is this dangeroius and really bad for the car...what can it lead to?
