cam bearing seal interchangable?

can the cam bearing seal be reused from one head to another without it having to be shaved down?

i don't know if i got the right name to it but i'm talking about the 5 thing that pretty much holds the cams down...

i just switched heads and when installing the new head i used the old cam bearing seal but the it holds the cams down really tight so i can't even move the cams...and i dont' want to take everything apart since i already torqed down the headgasket..

anyone got any ideas?

If you're talking about the cam caps, then no, they are not interchangable from one head to another. If you can't turn the cams freely (with no valve train in the head) when the cam caps are torqued to spec then there's a serious problem.

Yup, the cam caps are not interchangeable. If you need to use a set that did not come w/ that head originally, then you will need to have the cam journals line-bored at a machine shop.

you'd need to bring the whole head.
