A bunch of random questions for you to answer...

I very rarely post questions on the board but I figured I would take this opportunity to ask a few. Mind you these questions are completely independant of each other and random to boot.

1. What is the difference between a 194 and a 168 bulb? Something has to be different.

2. Does the A/C consume more gas as you increase the level of the fan? Sounds like a silly question but I've never gotten a good answer.

3. Does anyone make a deep blue bulb for our parking lights? Where could I find it?

4. What is a good metal polish for rims? The polished lips on my rims have accumulated a lot of dirt and stains so I'm looking for something to remove it.

I had more questions but I can't seem to remember them. I think that will do for now.

Thanks pkw1. I conveniently added another question after your response too.

pkw1 - Unfortunately that website does not have any blue bulbs listed for what I'm looking for. I will keep the polish suggestions in mind. I need to find something that is strong enough to take the stains out yet not harsh enough to destroy the painted surfaces. It would be a lot easier if the entire rim was polished.

Yes, but not much. The A/C system works to cool the coils in the blower path. By blowing air past it faster you'll be exchanging heat from the air you're putting past it into the coils and the A/C system. By doing this you make the compressor work harder. It's not much, though, when you consider the draw of the A/C system and what difference the increased rate-of-exchange is.

This is the same reason that the MAX or RECIRC setting is "easier" on the system.

194 = 2 CP

168 = 3 CP (Candle Power)

oh, sorry man.. i just checked the link myself.. there are only superwhite and amber... no dark blue.

buy when you search around, look for RAYBRIG hyper bulbs.. they are the brightest on the market for those little bulbs. actually, I know OPTION AutoSalon sells them too.. try emailing them to see if they have the colors.
