Brakes Dragging
Hello All,
I have a problem with the brakes on my 93 VTEC. It seems that the brakes (specifically the driver’s side front) are dragging. The driver’s front wheel gets considerably warmer than the rest after driving. I’ve noticed in stop and go traffic that the car has a fair amount of resistance to movement after it comes to rest.
The car did this when I bought it, and I attributed it to severely warped rotors. I have replaced the warped rotors and worn out pads with the finest Ebay stock (cheap-ish drilled slotted rotors and ceramic pads). After the replacement, the system seemed to work great… except for the still present drag. The ABS light came on a year after I purchased the car, and after the new pads and rotors had been installed for a few months.
So, my question is, would just the caliper sticking cause the brake drag, or should I be looking into the ABS module? I know that my old Dodge pickup had an issue where the flex line on the brakes was prone to failure and collapse, causing the caliper to stick. Would something like that be possible on the Prelude?
