Body Kit Rant

I'm going to order a Mugen replica kit v. soon and I have an issue with body kits in general.

Even if a Mugen replica kit costs half as much as the genuine Mugen front bumper alone, $600+ is still a lot of $$. I can not understand how there are fitment issues with any damn body kit. How hard can it be ??

1. Make a mold.
2. Fit piece to desired car.
3. If it doesn't fit right, redo the damn mold.
4. Do this until it's as close to perfect as it's going to get.
5. Now you're ready for production.

All these companies that are doing body kits for the Import scene are making tons of money - no question about it. Why not put forth a little extra effort to make sure these pieces fit perfect? It may take a little time and money to get it right, but in the long run it's going to pay off. Word will get around on various forums like this one as to what company's kits are great quality and what company's kits suck. Get a good reputation and that company will get ahead. Like right now - I'm trying to do searches and find out who has the best Mugen replica. If there were a clear-cut answer, that company would have my business and everyone else's business who I tell to go with them.

Thanks for listening.....just had to get that off my chest.

Good luck buddy, that's all I have to say. I had a replica and it blew really bad. I spent over $1000 trying to fit and refit and remold it to get it right... then I gave up and bought the real thing. Sucks, I know. I talked to a guy a couple days ago that said he bought a replica from airzjordan (made by vis I think) and he said it fit perfect. You might wanna give him a shout.

I recommend the ViS replica from airzjordan...he I'll give you the hook up and he acutally goes to the ViS company and picks out a kit that is good quality and also fits nicely. I just installed the Mugen Front Bumper from him and needless to say, the fitment is perfect and I installed it myself w/ no modification. ....Hope this helps!

I know what you mean. It doesn't make any sense that a kit wouldn't fit your car perfectly, especially if it is made for your car.

Actually, only my front bumper is real (the part that gave me the most headaches). I bought it brand new off of C-Redrum after you couldn't get them anymore. It shipped to me directly from King. But he bought it through James Chan for $1250 or so. The rest of my kit is still the crusty replica. I'm probably going to be getting the rest of the kit around August if they're still available... otherwise I'll probably end up trying my luck with one of the other replicas.

Nice setup by the way! Have you track tested that bad boy yet?
