Best way to remove rounded bolts?

I figured I would put this in the general area since most bolts are alike and can become rounded, but specifically this is about a brake caliper bolt on my 93 SI lude. Im just trying to replace my pads which is a quick job if it werent for this freaking bolt thats rounded to hell. Ive tried vice grips, using a smaller size wrench, etc and I cant get it off. I dont want to have to take it to a shop just for them to take forever to finish the job and then have to pay them for it so what should I do?

easy-outs, rounded bolt removers, (both found @ sears) or the Gator Grip

I have removed quite a few broken, damaged or rounded bolt heads. The first thing I would suggest starting with some PB Blaster. Then try the vice grips or a bolt out. If neither of them work try using a hack saw or a cut off tool to cut a groove into the bolt and then removing it with flat head screw driver. If all of these fail I usually try to weld a screw driver to the bolt. This works almost 100% of the time. Hint: use a Craftsman screw driver to weld to the bolt that way you can have it replaced for free.

Just take the whole caliper off and buy a new caliper. That's what I would do.

what I do at work is tack weld a different bolt on top and crank it off using your new and improved bolt. Thats if you or some one you know welds.

I usually tap mine out with a punch and a hammer. Then you can also dremmel a flat head in the top of the bolt and use a screwdriver.
