Autometer ele. oil press. question

For those that have installed Autometer electronic oil pressure gauge.

I just purchased a Colbalt series electronic oil pressure gauge with sending unit. I was told by Autometer tech support that I will need an adaptor and the sending unit will connect where the existing oil pressure sensor is on the back of the block.

My questions:
Will the OE sensor not work with the new gauge/sending unit?
If the sensor is replaced and removed, what happens when the ECU no long sees its factory oil pressure sensor? Autometer says it will work fine.....

Thanks-

Brad

you will need a t-fitting for your new oil line that goes to your autometer sending unit, on the end of the t-fitting is where your oem sending unit goes

summary: 3 ports on t-fitting go to: 1)block, 2)oem sending unit, 3)Autometer sending unit
