If you're going to be doing an install and have a digital camera, how about we all get together and take some pictures of the install. It seems like every week we have a question on installs for headunits. And although it's super easy, I figure we can avoid alot of confusion if you or I wrote it all up. Let me know what you think. Cuz it's boring as sh|t right now.
i picked up the wiring harness for 3.26 - original price 15.xx and grabbed some free crimps in the install bay (no soldering for me )
I already pulled my dash frame thing and am actually ready to start crimping. Problem is my head unit won't be in til either tommorow or sunday. Just a little eager
I remember reading about the pocket fabrication thing. Does anyone still have pics of how people taped or kept the pocket underneath with the new HU?
I just got done with testing out joon's method of getting rid of the rear deck rattle. Worked really well

You wanna come down to my house? I like the idea but you shouldn't spend ur time coming down here for that. I'll take ur advice and do a step by step picture thing though - would be cool for that socal prelude club website if we're gonna have one that is
By the way, i saw you in the harbor plaza place (taiko japanese restaurant place) on jeffrey. This was a while back....you were sitting in ur car with some girl listening/playing with the HU/radio. Your car was parked against the curb. I was pretty sure it was you heh.

<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by OvaDaLimiT: Install kit as in wiring harness? Nope...all you need is that and those wire crimper things or a soldering iron. I've never run into any problems myself on installing HU's...so you should be fine. Most errors occur by installer error....it should be pretty easy tho.
Those new clarions look decent....a lot better than the old ones. But still a little too busy for my taste's tho....
I have a friend that works at bestbuy also....in bestbuy's inventory, car audio has one of the highest % markups....so it's pretty cheap when you get the employee discount....should be pretty cool....

too busy? As in controls/buttons or screen?
I like this one cuz it's NOT busy like for instance, the pioneer 9200 *cough* It's a nice HU but that display and control layout makes me want to throw the damn thing on the ground and stomp on it after trying to play with it for couple minutes.
And yeah, the car audio **** are soo marked up...it's great. I'm getting that clarion deck for 250!

Maybe i just don't like silver as a HU color? I know you want the black one...so that'll probably look much better. But yah...it's definitely the silver...too panasonic-ish (nothing against u panasonics owners tho ). Hehe...the 9200 too tough for you?? . Actually, yea...it had a slight learning curve to get use to its logic/layout. I remember playing wiht it instore but couldn't figure out how to change radio stations...arrg! But once i got it and installed it then it made total sense to me and now and is like second nature

Yup! I got my subs and amp from my friend...maaaan...hehe. We got him in trouble for buying us so much stuff so he had to stop. No more discounted stuff for us
IranMan had the same problem i have now. I'm currently using the stock speaker wires to run my amps to the stock speakers and i'm not getting any sound coming from my rear speakers at all. Don't ask me why i just didn't run new cables to the rear, i got lazy. anyways what would be a quick way to bypass the AFBS without cutting any of the stock wires?
