94 prelude won't start in the heat

Hi, I am new to this forum and was hopping someone could help me out. My prelude won't start once it has been sitting directly in hot sunshine for more than an hour or two. Sometimes if I wait a while it might start up again but many times I have to wait until the sunlight is blocked and the car hood cools down. Anyone ever heard of this before?

It sounds like a relay problem to me. I know other people on here have had that exact same problem, so I'm sure you'll get a good answer. I would look at the under the hood fusebox for the relays and see if you see one labeled for the starter. Lets see if anyone else confirms this.. good luck on this

Sounds like your main relay, it controls the spark+gas

Is it cranking/turning over slower in the heat? If so, you're timing may be too far advanced which is more of a problem in the heat than it is in the cold. Just one more thing for you to try.

What do you mean it won't start? Will it try to crank or nothing will happen when you turn the key. If your battery is old the heat can effect it causing it not to start till it cools down. Thats just something else to try....Let us know what happens...Later.
