Hey Guys and Gals,

I have to say, I'm a little bit burnt out with my Prelude. After doing all of this work, all I do is worry about the car and I never drive it. It has become such a nuisance to me that I am considering selling the car as is or parting it out and sellign it stock. I just wanted to offer anything to you guys first, before I start putting the custom parts on eBay.

oh wow. I never saw this before. You've done what i've been trying to do with my car. I've just completed my custom center piece which has a similar look to yours with the screen and deck but I plan to move my climate control overhead though. I do plan to do a similar thing with the door panels too except with a 2-way component system instead. Props to you and great designs.

Running the climate controls in the ceiling are going to be tough. When you take it apart you will see that the wire that controls the slider is actually sort of like the brake line of a bicycle and it's difficult to deal with.

yep. I've pulled the climate control apart many times doing LED conversions and what not. I'm making a fully custom control panel with rotary switches and normal pushbutton switches to control the main functions of the climate control then i'm going to have a programed linear actuator to control the heat cable.

Reviving my dead post....

I am getting rid of my car and I'm going to start parting it out. Let me know if you guys want any of the custom stuff.

No way!

Dud, I haven't seen this thread in a while.....but you have done so many ground breaking mods.........

...impressed so many people for so many years.....

Why sell it now?(you don't actually have to answer for personal reasons)

This is a heartbreaker. Just to see how much you've been through with this car.....and now it all goes away.

Thank you for the compliments, pIERCE. When I first bought the car brand new I was 19 years old and I paid for it with my life savings. I kept it garaged and barely drove it. (It still only has 44,000 miles on it!) I can't drive it or park it anywhere without freaking out about a speed bump or a minivan in the parking lot opening it's door into the car. I have no room for a spare tire in the back so I have to drive around with a can of Fix-A-Flat. If I go anywhere, I have to mentally drive the route in my head in advance to make sure there is no road construction, pot holes, or speed bumps. I drive it so infrequently now that I have to keep it hooked up to a Smart Charger so the battery doesn't die. I know that there are others out there that will appreciate her custom parts more than I do right now so I am going to convert her back to stock and sell the panels and dash. My house mortgage is sucking the life out of me right now so I definitely wouldn't mind having that extra cash and the extra garage space.

The craftsmanship of you and your shop is incredible. And the car just plain looks pristine.

I saw one of those pictures from '06 and the odometer said 38k miles....I just about fell out of my chair. Coincidentally, the first question I was going to ask after your reply was how much mileage it had NOW.

I can't believe that thing only has 44k miles.....it's a 5-spd, too. If I had the money, after you are to return it to stock, I'd buy it.

Wow, what a shame. This car had probably some of the best interior work I've ever seen, and I've been around for a while.

Lol. I didn't realize that back in 2006 I only had 38K. That means in the last 3 years I have only put 6,000 miles on it. Which is basically 2,000 miles per year. My insurance company gives me a discount on the car because I drive it so little.

I've never seen this thread before, that is an amazing car...

Isn't it going to be difficult/costly bringing the car back to stock, considering the mods you have done to it? Won't you have to by whole new panels and everything?

I was hoping that whomever I sold the custom panels to would send me their stock panels as part of the trade.

WOW! ok, this is the first time i've ever seen this thread before. And I want to say, that this is the CLEANEST, most tastefully modded lude that I have ever seen. Shame that it has to be sold, but I guess the memories will always be with you!

once again, props dude, props.
