This morning on my way to work I was at an Exxon and this guy, in his 50's & driving a Jag came to me and said.
"This year Prelude (5th Gen) is one of the most good looking cars I have ever seen! It has such a well balanced design...it's absolutely perfect. My son had one of the batman looking ones with the triangle headlights, but I love this body style!!"
When I owned my '92 I hated the 5th gens, but now that I own a '97, I really do love the 5th gens as well!
It was just nice having some stranger say our cars are cool!!!
That made getting to work through rush hour more bearable.

^^Nope, that's not my bike....Mike D's bike.
I can see this turning into another 4th gen vs 5th gen war I like them both...there are some days where I see a 4th gen and I wish I had one of those instead...then other days I'm glad I have a 5th.
Best part is when you are OUT of your own car, and someone drives it by to pick you up. Realize how bad-azz your car looks all over again when you watch someone else drive it

Every Lude has been and is a classic in various technical and design ways. There is a particularly timeless quality to the design of the 4th and 5th gens though. My 95 still gets looks and comments from lots of folks including older folks with BMRs, Mercs and etc. A key thing is to keep your lude clean and classy as possible and not over the top.

To keep it clear...I was not bashing any gen lude. I agree, they're all Preludes and all great.

Totally agree also, you kinda forget what it looks like when you're always inside driving it! Not to mention when you have an exhaust too and you can actually hear what it sounds like!

exactly. I although I do get worried sometimes when the person I let drive my car promises to stay in the parking and suddenly goes onto the road...hmmm...

haha that's why NO ONE touches my car plus the fact none of my friends drive stick...
i got a compliment today too. some older guy said "that's a beautiful car you got there" i thought maybe he wanted to steal it, but my friend was in it so no worries
OMG, I just love it when I catch people staring at my stock interior and just walking around my car, checking it out. Sometimes, they talk to themselves: "oh, dang, prelude...oh SH"
hahahha. Happened many times.
I do get some looks on the freeway especially from young kids in Civics . Once I have some rims, I'm sure I'll get more compliments.
I love all generations of Preludes, but 5th gens are my fav. (I'm obviously biased!)

The coolest part for me is when I drop it off to get anything done at a Honda dealership, and when they have those indoor car bays. The door opens up, and you pull in, w/ a nice, DEEP exhaust tone, and a car that any detailer would be proud of. When you roll in to a stop, everybody's eyes are on you, and your LUDE. The next best part is when the service is done, and the tech pulls it back through the car bay... everybody stops and admires again. Then, the tech says, "Damn, that's a nice Prelude, son!" That's my favorite scenario I've experienced in the Lude... people just sittin' & admiring.

Anybody want to buy my Lude? (Will sell in either stock or fairly modded trim).
This point about the dealership is particularly tue. I know for a fact that there was this one very experienced technician who made sure he did whatever work was needed on my Lude when I took it in. It was an honor for him. You can see this for yourself if you stay around sometime. Of course, mine hasen't had to go in for work much, but when it does, it gets respect. They know how special the Lude is.
When I picked up my car at the dealer, the salesmen were telling me it was the first Electron Blue Prelude ever at that dealership, and they had to tell tons of people they couldn't test drive it
on the hwy I take to school, there is a red 911 turbo that drives to work there, ive seen him several times. One time i creeped by it slowly, I wanted to see who was driving. When I came by both of us were looking at each others car and he looked at my car and smiled Then he used all of his 420hp and took off into the horizon

Saw another green 5th gen on the way home from work one time. Was behind it for maybe 2 or 3 miles til they had to turn. Fell in love with the Prelude all over again

Hehe, I had that happen tonight on the freeway too. Soon after that, a kid in a 'Teg paced me on my last 10 miles back home.
ywwong, I usually get comments, "that's a sweet ride" at drive thrus.
I told Keith earlier this evening that in STL (compared to Toronto/Montreal), 5th gen Preludes are pretty rare around here. I'm lucky if I see even one Prelude of ANY generation in a course of a day.
