1999 Prelude's Normal Beam stops working

I have a 99 Prelude. When I turn on the normal beam, it's as dim as the low beam now. However, the high beam is working fine. I was wondering if the fuse was broken, and then I figured that there is only left head light fuse and right head light fuse. Could it be light relay? Thanks!

Thanks, that's what I mean. BTW, it looks like there is only 1 lighting relay, not 2?

I went to a Honda dealer yesterday and tried to buy a lighting relay to do a test. Then they told me that this part is hardly broken and it could be head light bulb, and if I had bought the lighting relay and it's not the problem, the part is not refundable.

So I drove back my car and double check the manual. Now I realize that the head light has only 1 bulb on each side and the other one is the parking light bulb. When I am turning on the high beam, the head light bulbs are working. And when I am turning on the low beam, only the parking light bulbs are working, while the head light bulbs are not lighted up at all. So does it confirm it's the lighting relay?

Did you ever try just changing the bulbs? I've had a pair of bulbs blow at the same time. I thought it was the relay but it turned out to be the bulbs. It was very strange.

If you have a multimeter it would be easy to test the relay.

Thank you Sean. I am just wondering, after the bulbs blow, is your high beam still working?

I am totally newbie to car's electric system. I just would think that if the head light bulbs had blown out, they wouldn't work for both low beam and high beam?

Hi Sean, so I replaced both bulbs and now it's working. It seems that they can run out at the same time. Thanks
