17" wheel owners with 215/45/17 tires.........

howdy y'all, if you have 215/45/17 tires on your car, let me know the offset of your wheels, how much you're lowered, and if you're rubbing.

I just got a new set of wheels in +44 offset. I used to have a +42 offset wheel with 215/40/17 tires and never had any rubbing problems no matter how hard i threw my car into a turn. I just didn't like the thin sidewall of the tires especially for where i live. So i decided to go with 215/45 series tires for my new wheels and now i rub when i enter sharp turns. Here's the thing though, i have ingalls camber kits and it seems that the taller tires might of messed up my original alignment settings. It seems that my front left actually sits in more than the front right(which is the only side i got to rub). I was just wondering if actually getting a taller tire can affect alignment settings. I feel that i shouldn't be rubbing with the offset/tire combo i have.
If anyone has any helpful advice, please feel free...

Gills, how wide are ur rims?

I have 215/45/17's on 7" rims w/an offset of 48. Lowered 1.7 F & 1.5 R w/Neuspeed Sports +KYB's. No camber kit.

I hear very slight rubbing when my steering wheel is fully turned, ex: U-turn, K turn, parallel park, etc..

Very slightly though.

I'll willing to bet ur running more than a 7" rim:

Actually, no i'm not It's a 7" wide rim and i'm lowered on the same springs you're lowered on. Your offset better suits the tires and you still rub,eh? damn. I just made an appointment with the alignment guy to see how things work out. I'm thinking with a higher offset wheel and bigger tires my alignment is slightly off. I just went for a drive too and it feels like it is a little wierd. We'll see what happens. This is the cheapest fix. If this doesn't work i'm going to have to either get new tires or roll the fenders and the latter won't happen so it'll be new tires I can't have rubbing because i love to take turns and this is completely destroying my driving fun.

I'm running 215/45/17 RE730's on TEIN HA's about a 1.5" drop and no rubbing. My wheels are 17*7 with a 45mm offset, however I did have to cut that little piece of the rear bumper cover. If I push my car to the point where I might actually crash I'll get a tiny scrub from time to time.

So afterall it wasn't that old guy's fault last time eh?!?!?!

Gills- could in be that 4th and 5th gens have diff. offset issues? I have no clue what is the proper rim and tire sizing of the 4th.

I personally don't think ur new wheel combo has anything to do w/ur alignment.

The camber kit is going to cause your wheels to rub the outer fender more, maybe try some more negative camber.

I'm running 7x17, 215/45 with an offset of +40. The car is only lowered by about 1 1/2" all round and I have never heard it rub at all, even with myself and two others in the car.

What kind of tires do you guys have? I have Bridgestone S0-3s. I'm seeing that these are actually "big" for their size compared to others. All manufacturers have different dimensions for the same size.
