Zeal Function B6 coilovers

Thanks to AlexLude I recently purchased a set of the Function B6 coilovers with X-Coils for my 5th gen. I got a set of the streets and another set of hards. I put the street set on my car so far i love it. I started a thread on the suspension and did research untill i knew 100% that this was the suspension i was looking for. I was the last person on earth to think about spending another penny on suspension since ive done it so many times and not gotten the results that i wanted. I got more than i expected with these. my spring rates are 896/672 and the hards are 1008/784...ill be sure to write about how these ride later on.

1st impression:
-Opening the box they look no different than any other coilovers from any other manufacturer.

Installation:
-Preloading the springs was a lot easier than i thought.
-Adjusting the shock height was so smooth. unlike other coilovers which are notchy while making the adjustment.
-Setting the dampning was unbelievably easy. Zeal has a window which tells you which setting its on and it comes pre-set to 1 out of 6.
-Making height adjustments......Zeal reccomends that you do this off the car to ensure the springs are tight.

Driving:
-Zeal says the springs need a 30-60 mile break in. On break in they seemed a little too soft for my taste but the car hugged the road and i still felt every bump.
-I noticed the springs got progressively stiffer untill the 60 mile mark. I have my settings at 2 in the front and 6 in the rear. I started to feel the road more and more without the harshness of any other coilover or spring/shock combo ive ever ridden in a 5th gen.

Racing:
-I broke these in and went straight to the track for a drag event.
-I broke my personal best and then beat a time i didnt think i could.
-Heat wise it was the same as the last track event, i credit the suspension.

Overall:
-This is the best suspension that ive ever felt on a 5th gen prelude. I still feel every dip/bump/pothole etc the road has to offer. I do not have the noise that i have had in the past with 4 other suspension set ups. The travel of the suspension is perfect. I dont have the bottom out feeling of previous suspensions (i dont scrape on driveways at less of an angle now than i did before). Im able to go places in the car i wasnt able to before.
-I purposely took my car thru places where i went out of my way to avoid. The comfort was unbelievable! i know the road problem was there and i still felt it...but it was a ride on a pillow effect.

I tried explaining this to Alex and he didnt understand....so last night we went for a ride....he was smiling from ear to ear since he picked up a set himself and now cant wait to install them (this was before i tried to scare him with vtec and ecs ) Its really hard to explain how this suspension feels but if i had to put it in terms it would be:

spring/shock difference in switch to Tein HAs is the difference between tein & Zeals

Please feel free to ask any questions.

ive had Neuspeed race springs, MaxSpeed, Tokico Illuminas, AGX, NEX coilovers, and 2 other sets of coilovers 1 of which were manufactured by same company as GC and another Omni Powers.

I never went with the Konis, just because of the difficulties of them going out because of spring rate...i know you can have them revalved and they have lifetime warranties but that does nothing for me if they go out more than other setups.

another update..... after almost a week i decided to take the car out and hug a few twisties to see how it handled.... from my previous setup (NEX with 800sr) i was able to take the turns at almost twice the speed as before and the car held tight. No squatting or loose back end. now i really cant wait to put the tie bars in.

Indeed open exhaust and VTEC is nuts I'll never be the same after experiencing that. Thanks to Nat I'll hopefully be getting a set of Zeals some time next year.
