Tanabe Ultra Medallion Exhaust

For exhaust pics and information:
http://www.tanabe-usa.com/exhausts/ultramedalion.asp

*I recently changed to Greddy Evo 2*

Looks: Well, what can you expect from tanabe, it looks great. Thats just me though. Some people do not prefer those straight-through muffler look. Ex. Apexi N1. Looks wise, It owns greddy evo 2 that I currently have. blue titanium tip is a plus also.

Install & fitment: This exhaust is WELL built. High quality with precise fitment. No sagging issue in the axle-back like Greddy Evo2. Tip is also where it should be, does not come out alot, like greddy evo2(which i hate). Its perfect.

Sounds: This is where biggest debate is gonna stand. Reason is, because some hates loud exhausts, some loves it. If you are Apexi N1 kinda person, this will be 10/10 for you. If you are RSR Exmag person, this will be 1/10 for you. If you are greddy evo2 person, but wants a bit louder exhaust, this will be an option for you.

-When you start the car, this exhaust has DEEPEST tone i've ever heard in my life.
You can't imagine this sound is coming from a inline 4. Its very very deep.
-When you just normal daily drive, its usual. Exhaust note is DEFINITELY there.
You can hear it anytime, anywhere, no matter how slightly or heavily you put
your foot on the gas.
-High-way cruise is gonna be painful for those who craves quiet exhaust,
and will be delightful for those who really craves exhaust sound everywhere
they go. Droning is definitely there. However, this can be avoided by slightly
keeping the gas pedal down. This is how I handled mine when sometimes
I didn't want to hear any noise.
-WOT: This is where loud exhaust shines as most of you guys know.
This one sounds like jet plane. Combined with deepest volume of the exhaust and
high-RPM, its just beautiful. Exhaust note gets quieter as rpm climbs and
when vtec engages, but that "Racy" sound still remains in the back. Truly race-car sound.

Other options it came with:
-It has a premium set-the-alarms-off system and piss-off-your-neighbors-at-night
system as a standard equipment.
-It comes with silencer, which will make your car sounds stock almost.
Yes, Im serious. It almost sounds stock. That loud deep exhaust is nowhere to be found.
-Titanium muffler. Piping is light-weight thin stainless steel(see the webpage I listed above for details). I told myself, "hey, its just the muffler that is titanium, I probably can't expect much weight reduction out of it". Boy I was wrong. This exhaust system is really light-weight compare to other ones, for example, my Evo2. Jesus, I want my skinny light weight tanabe back.

Overall Review: I am that kinda guy who can't stand loud exhaust, but also can't stand stock-quiet exhausts. Thats why I purchased Greddy Evo2 to satisfy my needs. To be honest, I just love changing exhaust systems from time to time.
This is my 3rd exhaust by the way. With my Evo2 getting louder day by day, I sometimes wish I had that deep tone of ultra medallion, and that jet-plane sound when you WOT.

Reading this makes me so happy. I need to get that Silencer though. Did you run the Tanabe one? I don't see myself spending 60 bucks on one, but my friend who has a shop says he'll get to me at cost, or i can get a cheaper one.

thanks guys.

MrBB6, 60 bucks?????? what the hell.
It shouldn't cost more than $30 bucks.
My local shop sells one that fits the TUM perfectly for 30 bucks.
And I thought that was high price...
