Sylvania SilverStars H1.

I was used to HID for 3 years. Going back to halogen bulbs was a
painful process for me. Not only it looks sh1tty, but its so damn dim.

I decided to try "bright bulbs". I was careless of what kind of color output
it'll produce. I just wanted more lumens for brighter viewing at night.

I put on one of them to see comparison between regular halogen
that comes with prelude and silverstars. Damn, these looked WHITE
compared to almost "gold-ish" stock halogen. Which I liked.
I mean color output is seriously nothing compared to HID kits I had,
but this was impressive for just bulbs.

I closed my garage door and turned off all the lights and just turned on the
headlight to see the brightness difference. There was noticible difference
between the two, but it wasn't a huge deal. but I am still more than satisfied.
maybe because I really didn't expect anything out of just regular halogen bulbs.

For now, I give two thumbs up to sylvania silverstars.

TEH HID5 WILL NEV4R L0SE!!!!111111eleven

Personally I'll never go back, but i totally agree with you on stock lights being TERRIBLE. The bulbs you got are a good deal for people who can't afford an HID kit/projectors at this time.

Yeah. Just until few days ago, "night felt so bright" in my lude, but it seems so dim.

I should've parted out the HID a little later. damn it.

I'll add my .02.
I had these and they continued to blow as they did for a bunch of other people on this board. Thumbs down from me.

These pictures were taken from a tripod with all camera settings "locked" (color balance, f-stop, shutter speed, etc.) so the color difference in these pictures is NOT from the camera. This is how different they really look. This is also how messy my garage really looks.

4 year old stock headlights:

I've only had them since January so I can't comment on their longevity yet...

Longevity sucks. Went through 3 in the last few months. But they are brighter. Just doesn't last.

Wait a few months, then revisit your evaluation. I went through 2 sets of them within probably 5-6 months. I'll give them credit for the quality of light output, but they don't last at all.

I also tried the Silver Stars for my high beams as a cheaper alternative to the PIAA Extreme White bulbs I am using in my low beams. I was hoping that there would be no visible difference in color since the PIAAs are a nice white color. The SilverStars look to be exactly the same color, so I was very relieved.

I have not had them very long yet, just a few months, so I can't say much about longevity, but I was very surprised at the quality for the price, especially since I don't use high beams that often. I would definitely recommend them though as a cheaper alternative to the PIAA bulbs if money is tight.
