I understand how the shorter gear ratios would make the car faster by revving much quicker.

Does the final drive give more power to the car? What I mean is if you dyno your car back to back after the tranny swap, would it show any gains?

^Nevertheless, wished I have done it during the tranny swap.

You may consider getthing the JDM cluster with 180km/h speed limit, it will match the speed range of your tranny perfectly.
