osram silverstars, H1

i got these last december. light output was good, not blue or pink (as my previous bulbs) nice white light. price was good, $9 each. last week one went. this week, other side gone. so i guess for $18 i can't be upset, but they lasted a little less than a year.

I never got to see how long my Osrams were going to last. I was at 5 months, though.

Hmmm, I thought the whole point of getting Osram Silverstars was that they last longer than Sylvania (North America) ones. I had my Sylvania Silverstars for 11 months before each went out. From what I hear they emit a better whiter light than Osram so I guess I will stick with them. They do cost twice as much ($18 each) but I love the output so think they are worth it.

I've had both the OSRAM Silverstars and the Sylvania Silverstars and I can reassure you that the sylvania ones emitted a more blue beam compared to the OSRAM. The OSRAMs were more white. Even one look at the bulb the osrams had less blue tint on the glass.

sylvania, blue? lol. I have Sylvania Silverstars and they aren't even remotely blue. They are completely white and don't have a tinge of blue at any angle.

I'm just saying comparing the sylvania vs osram silverstars, the sylvanias are are slightly more blue...i'm not saying that they are blue like the crap you find on ebay for 10 buxx

Yea I can see where you're coming from..the difference is so slight that you have to compare them side by side to see it. I can also say it the other way around: the OSRAMs are a bit more yellow than the Sylvania silverstars...maybe that won't make you jump up and down so much

i am pissed. i have been running the european philips vision plus for 3+ years. i figured i would give the sylvania silverstars a try. the color looked nicer but not near as bright as the philips. today (about 4 wks.) after i bought and installed them, the pass. side burnt out. POS! Back to my trusty philips.
