OPparts rotors & Axxis/PBR MM pads.

Got a set of 4 zinc coated rotors & the set of pads for $190 ($80 for the rotors, $80 for the pads, $30 for shipping) from eBay user 'speedydynamic'. I was prepared to be disappointed at such a low price, but I'm impressed with them. I've used the MetalMaster pads before, and was happy with them - and now they come with an integral shim which means no shims or brake grease required for a squeak-free install.

Anyway, installed everything & bedded in the pads last weekend with no problems. Only put about 50 miles on them, but so far so good . . .

So yeah, OPparts rotors = recommended, and seller 'speedydynamic' (sales@speedydynamic.com) = recommended.

In a few weeks I plan on pulling apart the calipers & lubing the floating pins (had some uneven wear between inner & outer pads), so I'll take pictures of what things look like then.

paint your calipers

sounds good, I've been looking for an affordable brake upgrade.

You have to custom order it. Takes about 4 years to come in.

This doesn't mean much 'cause I've only put about 150 miles on them - but here's a few shots of what they looked like today.

Rear:

Spent the afternoon cleaning & lubing my caliper pins - hoping to avoid a repeat of this:

How many miles do you have? And do you live by an ocean?

141,500 . . . No ocean - but daily driving in New England for 8 winters takes it's toll . . . Now I'm in Western NY, moved here last August.

Had a rim off last night to change up a rear wheel bearing, so I figured I'd take the opportunity to update this thread . . . 2,377 miles on the new brakes, still work/feel/look great:
