Neuspeed Short-Shift - Short and Sweet

Well my answer will be short and sweet anyways. It sucks. Poor fitment and it feels clunky. Install was alright though.

does TWM make short shifters for the lude? I drove my friends 7th gen celica with a TWM SS and it was sweet.

I am pretty sure the only options for a lude are the LEAN Racing full kit, the PSPEC which I think is no longer made, pete disappeared and the DC or Neuspeed adapters. The DC is crap from what I hear. The Neuspeed like I have is.. mediocre. Poor fitment.. I think I might have just a bad one though. Shifting is a little notchy too.

I got this: http://www.cosmoracing.com/productin...id=133&pid=396 from ebay a few years ago. Seems to be a neuspeed knock-off but works fine for me. The shifts feel just like stock but shorter and a tiny bit tighter. I never used the Leanracing nor the Pspec shifter but I can't imagine it to be that much better then the adaptor considering the price.

Both the leanracing and Pspec shifter essentially replaces the stock shifter rod with their own rod which has the linkage point relocated to a higer point to achieve shorter shifts. I believe short shift adaptors could achieve the same result. I surely like to be proven wrong though by trying either a leanracing or pspec shifter myself.

Regarding your notchiness, did you shave off enough material from the console frame? If not, the shifter cable and the frame can rub and causes your shifts to be notchy.

Try re-installing it...make sure shifts are smooth before tightening all the bolts and re-installing the center console.

I have switched between three of them. (I Sell them) and they all suck. And neuspeed doesn't stand behind them at all because they outsource the entire product and even they know its crap.

it wouldn't suck so hard if they milled the fvcking thing properly. the slot when the shifter should sit is just over 1/4 inch off so it doesn't line up. the rest does though. what a POS.

I've had one in the past. It make shifting feel very stiff. I did not enjoy it.

Lean SS feels so much better. I'd imagine PSEC is up there.

You mean 1/4 inch off to the side? Unless I am misunderstanding what you're describing, that's messed up, no wonder you shifts are notchy.
