Lighting: Osram Silverstars

I purchased a set of Osram silverstars a couple of weeks ago to replace my boring old yellow oem bulbs. Take note, these silverstars are not the same ones sold at autozone or kragen. These are imported from europe and do not have the light-robbing blue tint that the US Sylvania Silverstars have. The install was simple enough, as it would be for any bulb but when i turned them on i must admit i was not impressed. They look very identical to my stock bulbs in appearance. There is absolutely no hint of blue to them at all, and they are more of a white/yellowish light that seems to be only slightly brighter than the oem bulbs. That evening, I decided to take a little spin around the block to test out the new bulbs and WOW, these bulbs are bright. They may only appear a little clearer/crisper than the oem bulbs from the outside but as far as lighting performance on the road goes, these bulbs are the brightest I have ever owned. They are leaps and bounds above the expensive Piaa's and Sylvania Silverstars that I used to own. They light up the road incredibly and emit a remarkably clear beam of light. Granted, HID lighting would most definitely be brighter but i think these bulbs are enough to hold me over until I collect all my parts for the retrofit. I've gotten a lot of comments about the brightness of these bulbs from passengers and other drivers. I would HIGHLY recommend these bulbs as they truly are worth the 30 dollars you spend on them.

I was reading your review and was like HUH???? THen I realized that you meant in broad daylight that they look like stock, heh, I agree with you there. I, too, have this set of lights on my lude, and they are AWESOME! Oh and they match perfectly with my Koito H2C's I have in my JDM Fogs

I hardly ever use my high beams so I'm not going to spend money for another set of H1's for that. Plus when I use turn on High beams, I'd have 3 sets of lights of lights on

I haven't had any problems with them as of yet. I'm guessing they would be of better quality than the US spec ones but don't quote me on that. I ordered mine from ambulbs.com. I highly recommend them.
