Falken FK451's

I recently got these for my Prelude in 215/45/17 (crappy NJ roads) and figured I'd post a review. I've gone through the OEM RE92's, Dunlop W10's, RE730's, and RE750's and these seem to be the best. Initial impression is they're QUIET which as a major point for me. So far it's tough to get them to break loose in a straight line and their wet handling seems to be exceptional. I havent had an opportunity to push them in the corners while it's dry but I suspect they'll be just fine.

For anyone looking for a nice street tire for a reasonable price I would highly recommend these.

If you think the grip is good now wait until you wear them down.

I pushed them slightly the first day I had them on but in the past the first few hundred miles on tires is usually a little slick I went easy. With the rave reviews on the Azien Sports I figured these would be used more but I could only find a small amount of reviews on them.

Yes, the grip is good. And word on the autocross circuit is that the "top layer" of tread is a harder compound, but after the tread wears down to 3-4/32s the compound is the same as the Azenis sports, very very sticky. And because the tread pattern is more condusive to the wet vs. the Azenis Sport some national level auto-x guys were using them in the wet with good results.

I think you made a good choice and will be happy with them. Sorry if you mis-understud my post.

haha, damm. when i was looking for tires, there were soo little reviews on these and i had a gut feeling to go with these

but i choose ES100s instead and i feel i made a bad decision. they dont seem to grip that well in my opionion. they are still relatively new, couple hundred miles on them, but my FALKEN ZIEXs seemed to handle a lil better than these in corners

i knew i wouldnt have gone wrong with FALKEN, if i had picked them up to replace my ZIEXs

I had these falkens in 225/35/18 for my volks and I really liked them too. Right now running gs-d3 and will most likely be switching back to these because of the similar performance for cheaper $$$.

^^Thats interesting...I may feel they are quiet because before this I had pretty crappy tires.

The other think i like about them is the rim protection, which is great.

I had FK-451 on my 17s on the lude.only used them in the summer.

All i can say is WOW what a great tire. You would need to put about 1000 miles on them to break them in, but after that Tires got sticky just by driving around. The more you push them the sticker they get. Wet road conditions are a joke. they stop on a dime in the rain. Only issue i had is when it was just starting to rain and the road wasnt fully wet yet... just slighty wet, on turns i felt under steer.

But over all i loved them. I wish i can get them for my car now... but they dont have the size i need

The people with new tires say they're quiet and one person who had them says they were friggin' loud. I guess that's no surprise because when I had Falken Azenis 195/65/14, they were comfy and quiet when new, and sounded like rolling rocks when worn down. If the FK451s become Azenis after a while as paulyg said, that explains this.

I'd say they were loud for the first 100-300 miles. after that... nothing.

PS- i still have them if anyone wants them... they have a few thousand miles left on them (like 4-5k). I would sell em for 100 bucks all 4

yeah, maybe thats why i thought it was loud. i basically had them for the drive to NPM, back, then took the wheels off to sell.

does anyone know the mileage one can drive on these before they die? or i guess... how long one drove them before they died? i heard the azenis had not too long of life becasue of how sticky the rubber is, could this be true for the fk-451's also?
