Exedy 3puck & alluminum flywheel Review

Can someone host a picture for me and i'll post a pic comparison of the OEM cluch and flywheel vs aftermarket

Clutchmasters/Fidanza aluminum 8lb:

At first the flywheel i found a bit hard to get used to, revs seem to go up so much easier. when driving Accleration seemed to feel better since the rpms went up easier. It may seem that there are power gains but the truth is there is less weight on the drive train allowing you your power to be realized quicker. There are some myth that since the revs accerlerate much faster they also drop much faster, this is true. However, many think that it's easy to stall a engine with a lightened flywheel because rev's drop to fast. This is not really true, i did not stall the car at all due to the lighten flywheel. It pretty much takes about 15-30min's to get used to driving with a lighten flywheel.

Pro's....i have to say for the amount you spend on the flywheel it's pretty good gains for acceleration. Definitly recommended at the same time you do a clutch since you are in there. Save on install costs.

Con's...Pretty much the only down on this mod is that you have to pull the whole tranny to get it installed. If you do it yourself it can be relatively cheap, but if you pay someone the install could cost almost as much as the flywheel itself. But if you are replacing your clutch, i'd strongly recommend considering a lightened flywheel at the same time. Good luck

Exedy 3puck ceremetalic thin:

This clutch took me a couple days to get used to. I have heard rumors that for the 3puck you can not ride the clutch too much or risk glazing the face of the disk and destroying it. So....i tried not to ride it too much but soon realized it is not as easily as i'd thought. After a couple days i got used to it, you just have to let it slip a bit till you feel it grip and just let it go. I let it slip too much a couple times and the whole engine starts to shake, hood rattling like crazy, Chatter like crazy. So...you don't want to ride that clutch too much. There is also a myth that performance clutches give a really heavy pedal feel. This is not true for this clutch, i found the pedal feel to be just a bit heavier than stock. Pretty good
Ppl also say 3 puck race clutches wear out fast, i've been using the clutch for 3years, no problems so far...still grips good so it's lasted much longer than i'd even expected.

Pros....the clutch is a performance clutch, i really like it, i've never had it slip in any situation, droped teh clutch at 8000rpm before no problems. All and all, i liked the clutch in general.

Cons...the only time i didn't like it was during rush hour traffic. Just because i can't ride the clutch too much, moving a couple feet every few minutes can get quite annoying. The 3puck is always more expensive than the full face. I'm going to try the full face Exedy next time around to see how that one is.

I have the Exedy 3 Puck w/ Fidanza 8lb flywheel. Besides for some chatter when the clutch is cold, I love it. No problems what so ever. I have used it for about a year now running N/A and then with a 7 psi turbo setup and it works great for both. I like to know my clutch is gripping and you diffinately get that feeling from it.
