First and foremost I've got to say, this has got to be one of the best upgrades I've purchased for my car. For daily driving my car to spirited mountain pass driving to auto-x'ing and track racing, this system will make you appreciate every dollar.
First setup I've had was stock caliper with aftermarket HAWK HPS+ pads and aftermarket AEM big rotors (13"). This system I had was a good upgrade from stock, but didnt provide a HUGE difference between the OEM setup. HAWK pads dusted quite a lot and the big rotors made a slight difference in braking power.
Second setup I added to the AEM Rotors were stainless steel brake lines (goodridge) and Motul brake fluid with Endless Vita Nuova pads. The braking power was slightly better with the upgraded endless pads (less dusting as well) but still, not as satisfied after driving my friend's G35 with the brembo brake upgraded package.
Final and current setup was the entire endless system kit. Let me tell you, after bedding in these pads gradually and correctly, and rebleeding the system after bedding in your brakes, my brakes feel like the G35 with the brembos on all 4 corners. Maybe even better since the prelude is lighter than the G. Brakes on a dime, very little dusting on the wheels, but there is a light squeal at slow speeds (when braking). According to sound of race braking systems (and even the brembos on the G), this slight squealing/squeaking while braking at slow speeds seems normal. I can go faster into the turn, brake late and still maintain control of my car coming out of the turn at faster speeds. The brakes just bite. I've felt spoon calipers with OEM rotors, and they just dont feel as solid as this endless kit (even though both are 4 piston calipers). I'm totally satisfied with this setup and install was a cinch. If you ever consider a big brake kit, I would consider getting an endless system kit (if your wallet allows or if you get a sponsorship deal).
I've never heard of someone bedding in a pad gradually. You want to burn off the resins in the pad (left over from creating the pad) and get them up to a hot enough temperature where they will transfer a layer of pad material to the rotor. You want em hot!
heheh yeah i didnt mean gradual pedal pressure (but rather time to take to bed them in). Correct way to bed that I did was while about to stop, really pump the brake (jerking the car almost). that way, the pad can heat up very fast. While you're doing this, dont slam on the brakes or brake until the car comes to a complete stop.
So its like going 40-50mph, brake, release, brake, release, brake, release (pumping the brakes).
and the more the pads brake in, i increase speed by 5-10mph.
holy crap dude.....that sh1t is sick......I def had a boner looking at those pictures..I didn't even know they made them for ludes....do they make them for 5gen?
