Calling all Raleigh members

Me and my g/f will be moving to Raleigh this coming September. My aunt and uncle live in Cary(Prestonwood CC), but it's too expensive and a little out of the way/not as easy to get to downtown Raleigh. I like North Raleigh (Glenwood/Creedmore) up by the Angus Barn and Crabtree? mall. Most likely, I would need easy access to the airport, and it's cake from the Glenwood area. I'm only interested in apartment complexes. We're not really interested in duplex's, or other apartment's in houses. Also not interested in living in the immediate NC State area. (I'm almost 30)

What I'm asking is if any of you know the names of any nice apartment complexes in North Raleigh. Here's some of our Criteria:

a)safe complex!- I knew a girl that lived in a BEAUTIFUL complex off of Creedmore, but it was also the home for many low cost/welfare housed families. She lived there for 6 months and had a rock thrown threw her front door, her car keyed and bashed, and she got wistled at/harrased every time she came home from work. I don't need my gf dealing with that when I'm not around.
b)2 bedroom 2bath
c)between $600-$800month
d)community pool/weight room/hot tub
e)balcony
f)secure parking- gated preferred but not mandatory
g)garage stall availability a plus but not mandatory

I appreciate any input that you all might have.

TIA

-Dennis

P.S. I looked online, but I have yet to find any German restaraunts in Raleigh. Anyone know of one?

Well Scott, Vic and Keith, I guess this just means that you'll have to come down to some North Carolina meets! I made it from Hackensack to Raleigh in 8 hours, so Scott and Keith, you might only be 7 hours or so. Vic......you will have a.......loooonger drive.

One slow lude - where in Charlotte are you? My mother and grandparents live in Kannapolis, but my Uncle lives in Concord, right off of 85. It only takes about 7-8 minutes to get to that BIG A$$ mall in concord from his house. Have you ever partied up at Lake Norman?

Hey Dennis, I'm not too sure about apartments in North Raleigh. I live around a mile from the NCSU campus. I can ask a few friends that are more familiar with the area and I can pick up a Raleigh Apartment Guide if you want.

Also, you might want to take a peek at ApartmentGuide.com

I don't blame you for wanting to be away from the campus. It sucks trying to sleep on a Sunday at midnight when some jerk is shaking the walls with their music!

Thanks Joe! I grabbed an apartment guide when I was there last May. They only problem with those is that they don't give exact street addresses on them, so I can't look up to see what area they are in. I'm going to be down in May to start the apartment hunt. I may have to enlist the help of a realitor, since security deposit's are so cheap.

Dude, I just saw this post almost at random.

I like it here in Raleigh. Good number of Honda peeps here. You need to call me as soon as you get here, we need to meet up.

Where I live has almost everything you are looking for. NW Raleigh, 20 mins from the airport. Gated, ~$700/mo, garages, pool, views, weightroom, theater room, plenty of parking. Garages are nice too. No ghetto rollers either. Send me a PM and I can let you know the dirty details.

Ken
