I dunno . . . is there enough interest? If everyone who posted in this thread were to come (doubtful, to be honest), that'd be 8 people. Include Paul & myself . . . it's pretty borderline. Minimum billing for the cabin is 11 - not that we couldn't do it with less than that, but we'd need to cover lodging rates for 11.

Still haven't gotten around to checking out autocross & track schedules compared to the camp's openings this fall. Although if memory serves, the cabins we'd be using are pretty wide open from the end of August into November, only a couple weekends here & there where they're reserved.

And what are we thinking for time span? Would people be interested in coming out for Cruise Night on Thursday evening & stay through something during the day on Saturday (karting, autocross, whatever)? Or is that too ambitious?

Maybe just friday evening arrival, a day event on Saturday, and people can either leave that night or stay through Sunday morning . . .

Are there a dozen+ people who are seriously interested?

I'll be honest, I'm not 100%, but I would like to come, if other NJ folks would like to carpool, I'd be down for that. All I know right now is that weekend of August 19/20 is out for me, but if you'd like to start a running list of interested parties, I'd be a maybe at the very least. It sure does sound like a great time, but a 6-hour drive means it can't exactly be a spontaneous, let's do it tomorrow sort of thing, haha. But let's get it started.

Question, just thought I'd throw this out there, but is there rafting/canoeing/kayaking nearby? How about paintballing?

I'm 50/50. I would love to go BUT it all depends on the job situation.

Just to get things started, how does September 15-17 sound?

I haven't checked it against autocross/track schedules, but it works for the camp . . .

We've got lake canoeing & kayaking here at the camp - but there aren't any rivers in the area. No idea on the paintball, but I haven't looked for it either. I wouldn't be surprised at all if there was - I'll check around.

That's a good starting point. And the canoeing/kayaking sounds good to me! If it's on a lake, then at least noone was to be afraid of rapids or anything. Good time to get started with kayaking, as it's a bit more difficult than canoeing, no?

Interesting... I'm probably taking my car to Watkins Glen on Monday the 18th for an HPDE. I'd try to swing by earlier and party some if you guys have it that weekend.

Scott, you ready to get on the track again?!? It is a Monday though so I know that sucks

I would love to, but I can't. I'm actually going back to nights at work which means I'll be sleeping during the day.

We're never going to get to run! Lol.
