The Philadelphia Region of the SCCA will be holding a Test & Tune event Sunday, August 1st @ Northampton County College. (That's near Bethlehem, PA). The test & tune is where we set up small courses, a skidpad, and a slalom, and mess around with tire pressures, shock settings, spring settings, etc to try and make our cars faster. As part of this event, an experienced pro driver will be giving a seminar on getting involved with autocrossing. If you have ever thought about getting started in the sport, this is the event for you.
Quote:
The Introduction to Solo II will be a hands-on seminar put on by Kelley Nelson starting at 9 AM. He will walk you through the steps to prepare for a typical autocross and explain some of the techniques that you use while you are on course. There will also be novice instructors available the entire day to ride with you and help you learn how to autocross. If you know someone who would like to try Solo II but they are a little nervous about it, this would be a great opportunity to introduce them to the sport gently without the time pressures and competition aspects of a regular event.
You do not have to sign up for any of these, just show up and listen for the announcements. We should be able to accommodate everyone who wants to come.
There is a map at http://www.northampton.edu/welcome/pop_map.htm We
will be using the Gates Center parking lot.
One run will cost $3, 4 runs can be purchased for $10.
