POSSIBILITY: Baltimore Meet/BBQ?

So last year we discussed the possibility of a Baltimore Meet/BBQ. I know a lot of you are planning to attend Irene's bbq in August, I am too. A couple of people have mentioned the idea of having a Baltimore meet this month. If any of you are interested I'd be more than willing to plan out a meet/cruise or even host a bbq.

I'd like to know if anyone is interested before going any further with the idea.

[1] Would July or September work better for YOU?

[2] Would you be interested in a Baltimore meet downtown -OR- a bbq at my house?

[3] Would you prefer a cruise be included in the agenda?

[4] Would you rather it be a 1 day event or an overnight trip?

[5] Suggestions:

  1. At this point, I think early september might be better.
  2. BBQ at your house, we can always roll to downtown later if we want.
  3. an optional cruise is not a bad idea.
  4. overnight, but only if i can share a tent-mansion with you.
  5. bring your cute girlfriends

I think September would make a great month for something to do (usually no one does anything that month) - this month is just too full right now unless we get together for something last minute

[2] Would you be interested in a Baltimore meet downtown -OR- a bbq at my house?
hmmm.... either but downtown b/c I've never done it

[3] Would you prefer a cruise be included in the agenda?
yes!

[4] Would you rather it be a 1 day event or an overnight trip?
I'll come for 1 day but I'd be down for an overnight trip too...

[5] Suggestions:
hmm.. try to see if you can find out routes for 'fall foliage' b/c those roads are suppose to be fun

Thanks for your input Keith, Kap and Irene!! So as of right now I'm leaning towards September.

There are a TON of places to cruise depending on what type of scenery you guys would prefer. We have the bay, the mountains, the farmland, the historic areas... LOTS to choose from. Actually, I could probably incorporate all of that if you guys wanted to take an hour-ish cruise. There's Annapolis (water/historic), my area (curvy roads, awesome scenery), downtown Baltimore (historic areas like Fells/Canton minus the cobble stone of course).. yada yada. I'll start doing some research online!!

1. Definitly September.

2. @ your house. Parking always sucks in the city.

3. Only if we are in an area w/o a lot of traffic and/or stoplights. Constantly rubbernecking, getting split up and lost makes for a bad cruise. Keep it in an area where there is nice scenery and we can keep it above 35 (except for hairpins ).

4. I don't care. Sleep over is nice and suggests that we will be able to chill w/ some booze in the evening hours. If no sleepover it's not a dealbreaker. But realize ppl are gonna bail at 7 or 8 pm.

5. Tell me what car you got.

Pauly you always crack me up. Thanks for the suggestions. So I'm 99% sure it will be in Sept. I believe my mom is selling her house which kind of makes the decision easier, huh? [3 of the 4 kids have moved out and a 6 bedroom house is no longer necessary.]

In any case, parking isn't bad in Baltimore at all. After 6/7ish street parking is free and readily available if you know where to go. You can even see your car from any place you go too In any event, I was hoping more people would appreciate the back roads and scenery. (Less cars, confusion, stop signs/red lights and more curves!!!) Any suggestions on cruise length??

More than likely, I'm going to go with the option for people to camp out. I'm sure not everyone will want to, but having the option is always nice. I have a pretty big tent mansion and I believe my mom's husband has an 8 person tent as well. Hopefully my mom doesn't sell her house before Sept. because the yard is HUGE and there's a lot of room inside to crash as well. Even so, my mom is pretty stuck on what she wants to buy. [Local, big yard, big kitchen, multiple bathrooms, garage]. So I don't see space being an issue.

Thanks for the suggestions!!

Pauly, I'm noooot tellllliiiing yooooou.

I still hate you.

[1] Would July or September work better for YOU?

Depending on how my vacation times are situated, I may or may not attend.

[2] Would you be interested in a Baltimore meet downtown -OR- a bbq at my house?

Don't matter. Parking my car would be better than having to find parking for my car. I hate driving into downtown places.

[3] Would you prefer a cruise be included in the agenda?

Don't matter. As long as you can place a hot girl friend in my car I am good to go.

[4] Would you rather it be a 1 day event or an overnight trip?

Oh hell no. I will be staying over at least one night! You must be crazy if you think I will drive 6 hours to MD and 6 hours back home the same day!

[5] Suggestions:

Bring hot girl friends for Vic to hit on.

I hate buoy dwellers. Therefore, you're not invited

I keed. Thanks for your input Vic. I assumed you wouldn't be interested from your response to the Baltimore BBQ idea thread like 6 months ago. Even if it isn't an overnight event (I HIGHLY doubt that being the case) you're more than welcome to crash at my moms. If she stays in her current house there are a ton of guest bedrooms. If she moves, we have a pull out sofa sleeper.

Since you put it that way, there's no way you will get me off the buoy then.

Bre - I'm not going to be around the weekend of the 15th or 29th, i think. Not saying plan it around my schedule or anything, but all else being equal if it's on a different weekend, that'd be cool

So September is off. I'd be willing to have an October/November meet if any one is interested. Doesn't look like many people are interested soooo... we'll leave it at that.

If you guys would be down for an October/November meet.. let me know. Right now I'm tied up with my grandmother's situation but I can plan something while bored out of my mind in a waiting room.

Well... no one said much soooo:

Oct 13th- wedding during the morning, high school reunion at night
Oct 14th- huge car meet at Kent Narrows

Oct. 20th- Fall Fest. demo

Oct. 27th- Halloween Party at Champs.

Soooo with that being said anyone interested in a November meet? I think if I don't get any input I'm just going to open it up to the other forum I'm on, post the date and whoever is interested from PO can attend.

Michelle, let me know where you're staying and for how long.. maybe we can hit downtown or something!

Yay! Michelle lemme know if you wanna go out!

Kap, I've actually been considering November or April. No one seems interested from PO and personally, I've started my project so it'd be cool to have a meet once it's finished. I figure if I pick an April date and set it early enough people can work around it
