The merrit is exponentially faster route. There are no trucks allow and we in CT call it the low speed autobahn.

Updated Route:

Take 291S

Merge onto 91S via exit 1A towards Hartford, CT

Take Exit 17 to 15S

Take Exit 26 to 287W

Follow over Tappen Zee Bridge

287W merges with 87N

Take Exit 14A to GSP.

PM'd you. Its probably a safer way to go traffic wise, but its just longer mile wise IMO, as opposed to your previous route.
