In need of valve adjustment

Just as many others have experienced, between 2500rpm and up(gets lounder as the rpms increase) i have a metallic tapping noise. Based on the searches ive done ive concluded i need my valves adjusted. If anyone would be so kind as to perform this task for me i'd greatly appreciate it, and im a poor college student so please take it easy on my wallet. Im in queens ny with a 97 with 146k miles on it. thanks

Hows $50 sound? the tapping noise is killing me and my mpg and you dont necessairly have to be from ny ill drive over to pa or nj. Id rather learn and pay a po.com member then give my money to some unknown mechanic. thanks

I can do your valve adjustment and timing belt.
Valve adjustment: Pay for my gas/toll to Queens, possibly lunch and $50.
Timing belt: Pay for my gas/toll to Queens, possibly lunch and ~$400-450 (probably closer to 400)

This all depends on how free my schedule is though (it's really busy right now) so you tell me how soon you need this stuff done.
