Cancel the appointment, you don't need an OEM windshield. I'll find you a nice aftermarket one and they'll come and install it in the parking lot as we get drizzunk at D&B....
Should be around $300, brand new and stuff. OEM windshield is like OEM tires, you don't need it.
Uh...no. I don't want aftermarket glass or panels on my car. I like OEM stuff. However, suspension and engine wise, aftermarket parts can be used.

My broken wings still strong enough to cross the ocean with.
My broken wings how far should I go drifting in the wind.
I don't remember if my Honda place has loaner cars. Even if I did get one, I wouldn't need it. I hardly need to use the car. Public transportation is like a 3 minute walk from my house.

can't they ORDER the part first...then tell you when ti's in and you'll drop it off?? I would hate for them to keep the car and have it just SIT THERE...imagine all the things that could happen to it while it's sitting there.

Well, it sits in my backyard, so its really no difference.
Kap - I can take a PeterPan busline to Penn Station, Newark NJ. Someone want to pick me up on Friday then?

Shelly go get it fixed while your car is sitting at the shop. Your insurance should cover it.

I would never replace my windsheild with anything other than OEM. If I'm not mistaken, the windshield acts as support brace in side collisions in addition to the chassis and helps to reduce risk of injury or fatality. I've heard many horror stories about aftermarket windshields.
Vic - If you can't make it this round, make it to BBQ6 (or is it 7 now?) because Nikki might be coming up for that.
Everything is now back up in the air. I don't know wtf I am doing this weekend.
And yea its BBQ7....somehow we got the BBQ numbers to match up with the year. I think it should stay that way.

You forgot to type that in pink.
There is nothing wrong with an aftermarket windshield. I doubt Honda makes their own. It's probably made by PPG or DuPont. The same people who are going to make the aftermarket one. Anyway I really hope you come down and don't punk out.

Unlike complex mechanical components, windshields are pretty standard. Sure there could be differences in the gauge thickness of the laminant, but they don't vary all that much. Actual material composition of the glass is standard as well. That leaves the physics of glass geometry itself, which by nature couldn't be much different, otherwise it wouldn't fit correct. So, I wouldn't be too concerned about an aftermarket windshield.
:sigh: Even though the glass itself may be similar, there still are differences in the tint and the quality. What I mean by tint is the fact that our glass (and most Honda glass) is slightly green tinted to block out some UV rays and what nots. I'm sure aftermarket glass have a tint to them as well, but meh...I like to know that all my glass match. And if most of you don't know already, I am anal about my car.
and nikki

Alright, no sweat, not trying to convince you to go aftermarket, just dispelling the myths! You talk to Keith yet? I'm gonna call him during lunch and see what's up...
