bbq4 - at the beach???

If we are going to have a bbq at the beach... there are some problems:
  • you have to get to the beach around 9am... can't meet up around noon.. beaches will be too full
  • some don't allow open flames
  • some don't allow playing sports on the beach until after 6pm
  • most don't allow any kind of alcohol
  • getting drunk isn't an option unless we can find some camp grounds

The only thing I am worried about is waking up early I don't mind the location......just other people will.

People shouldn't drink period during the day. If there is a campground/place to crash, then yea drink to your heart's delight but for hte most part its not sensible to be drinking for a 1 day thing.

The beach is in Jersey somewhere? Unless I stayed over someplace the night before, getting there at 9 in the morning isn't gonna happen.

Not gonna leave at 3 in the morning for a BBQ, sorry guys . . . .

I would LOVE to have the bbq at the beach....however.... I have serious doubts that everyone will get there by 9am. I'm sure some will, and others will show up late and get locked out. Even if we were to get up early and get there on time, I can see everyone being bored by 1pm. Sorry, I don't want to be a party pooper, I would love to have a beach meet, but I am trying to be real about it.

I was on the website for Long Beach Island, figuring since they are not as popular as Seaside, Manasquan, Belmar, Ocean City, Sea Isle, Wildwood, etc... that they would be more leinent. All of the beaches state no food allowed. I'm sure they don't bust you for a cooler, but if we drag a grill out there we will definitly get kicked off. That brings up another point.... they all charge for beach tags. $3-6 for a day pass. I think all the other beaches in NJ will be the same. So I don't know how feasable a beach meet would be.

One option would be to find a beach that is close to a park where we could have a BBQ. We could all meet on the beach, have some fun in the sun, then drive over to the park for some BBQ dinner. I'll have to look around on the interweb some to see if a situation like that exisits.

I voted yes, but could care less. I will go wherever and whenever it is. My suggestion though, maybe, is too have it at a state park. I can take pics of Bear Mountain this weekend. I'll probably need a cruise to take my mind off things.
