BBQ Cruise?

I know it didn't go very well last year and some people complained that there wasn't enough highways.. thing is, there aren't many highways and driving too fast is just not a good idea.. we don't want to give preludeonline or any other prelude/honda forum a bad name..

Please post if you would like to do another cruise this year and a suggestion on length of time so I can plan it more thoroughly (I've learned so much from my miata club since they do runs through the lehigh valley often, thing is that they are usually 4-5 hours and about 150 miles )

The Miata cruise was tons of fun. But it was all twisties and back raods. And it works better if you have smaller groups, which means people would have to volenteer to be group leaders, come a few weeks before the event and learn the route.

I could go either way, I'm not a huge fan of large cruises. Smaller cruises and big groups of caravan driving on the highway is definitely fun though.

I was just about to say that. Smaller groups is the key. Last year's route was fine but the group was too big. Maybe we should have 3 groups.

What? How is a highway cruise in any way desirable?

I enjoyed last year's cruise, I thought it went well. I'd enjoy another one, but that said, I also wouldn't mind at all if there weren't one . . . more time to sit around eating/drinking/chatting/sex0ring.

And I don't think anything longer than 45 minutes would be very popular, seeing as lots of people are already driving multiple hours just to get there. I'm a few hours closer this year than I have been, but still looking at like a 5 hour trip. And after I've been in the seat for that long (and have to do the same the next morning all hung over), an extra hour or two of driving doesn't really appeal to me.

We had 60 cars for the Miata cruise and was able to keep everyone together in 3 different groups.. we just need heads and tails along with people getting directions (meaning i don't forget them at home) we also need to learn to pull out Le Mans style (aka when we all pull over, everyone pulls out at the very same time)

I'll try to plan a <1 hour cruise for those who wish to participate.. maybe I'll grab some of my miata club members to head and tail for me..

key is that all the fast people are in the back and all the slower people get in the front
