PM me for directions.
I know Scott and Lisa talked about getting back in the saddle with autocrossing. And some of you have talked about it but never came out to try it. So I want to organize a mini-meet at an autocross event in the fall. Potential dates and sites are:
Sat 9/24 - PNC Center, Homdel, NJ. Decent sized lot. Laid out a little funny. Still higher speeds. M-club meet usually means lots of runs. Points based class system is friendly to heavily modded cars.
Sun 10/16 - Ripken Stadium, Aberdeen, MD. Good sized lot. 45 sec courses. Challenging off camber corners due to incline of lot. 50MPH top speed in a Lude. 1/2 between Deleware & Baltimore, so a little far for NNJ folkes, but it's do-able.
Sun 10/16 - Giants Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ. Big lot. Fast speeds. NASA uses points based system like M-club.
Sat 10/22 - Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ. Decent sized lot. Moderate speeds. Usually an "out and back course". 7-8 runs depending on attendance.
Sat 10/29 - Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ
Sun 10/30 - Ripken Stadium, Aberdeen, MD.
Sun 11/6 - Warminser Community Park, Warminster, PA. Old airstip means a long out and back course. Last one was over 60 sec long. And FAST. Lots of transitions. North of Philly and very close the the PA Turnpike means it's not far from North Jersey.

Hey, did they move the one that was on the 2nd Paul? I thought there was one at Boeing. I was gonna go to that one. There is one on the 16th up by my pops, so I was gonna take him out in the Vette as well. The one on the 30th I might go, but its like 2.5 hours one way for me.
Spammit... I'm looking at all these dates and remembering my schedule ... I'll let you know which ones I can get to... I'll do as many as possible, haha! *feels lame for not having gone in a year*
Paul, that's an awesome idea though
Here's a few more I'm considering because I like that South Jersey Region SCCA doesn't screw around like Philly Region does:
11/13 - Atco, NJ
11/20 - Atco, NJ
(Not tryin to take a stab at you Philly people but last time I autocrossed with them... I was less than thrilled because they wasted a LOT of time trying to beat the living daylights out of a community Scirocco... and the ones running the event sort of took advantage of their "position")
Scott: Yeah, there are events at Boeing 9/18 and 10/2. I didn't mention them because the Boeing lot is kinda small.
Lisa: We don't do that anymore.
Let me know what dates are appealing to you guys. I'll be at the 10/22, 10/29, 10/30, and 11/6 events regardless. I may skip Ripken on 10/16 to run at Giants. And I'll be there at Boeing on 10/2 also.

Nifty... wasn't trying to insult or anything like that... just turned me off to goin there. Glad to here its cool now, I would love to join ya'll I'll let you know what's up date wise
I'll probably be ther 10/2 and I'm debating the one on 10/30 at Aberdeen. Its a long haul and I have to see how gas prices are and such. Weather too, since the Z will not see snow nor salt.
If you're interested, you should give it a shot regardless... I've screwed up majorly once... haha... god I was practically in tears, not because I hurt anything or anyone, I just felt like ****. But hell, even I, the most self-conscious person ever, still autox. And I love it If you screw up, you try not to the next time... and besides, where else are you gonna rip around turns and drive like a maniac without getting arrested?
Michele... we should do it together so we both can suck at it! i was 2nd slowest miata the last time i went and it was still fun.. the guy that did the best in our class did it on rotting tires
^^ that is true... he was also another person going from FWD to RWD... I still don't get the hang of how I'm suppose to change my driving... I guess I should read this book Paul has on solo racing
