Anyone know a person/company in the Philly area in need of new employees?

I need a day job.. this night stuff is just killing me... Not necessarily anything in media... I'm an awesome personal assistant

it's a far shot but I figured I'd ask... I need to do something about my current unhappy job situation

While you are at it, I am looking for an entry level Engineering position that deals with CAD drawings.

Good luck Irene! I'm sure you will get something much better than what you currently have.

I do not need to explain anything to you.
My broken wings still strong enough to cross the ocean with.
My broken wings how far should I go drifting in the wind.

^^ I want to think that but since I only have a small area to work with, I don't know how true that is... I currently gross 36k with benefits... I'm glad you are optimistic because I find it so hard sometimes....

Once you get your certification, you should be able to find something.... I know Paul mentioned how many CAD drawing jobs he sees but nothing better than that or stuff that he isn't qualified for..

O do I know that... my mom has a degree in History and Theatre Lighting and a minor in Silversmithing or something to do with jewelry making...

I'm just trying to find something I like to do.. I really LOVE the business of television and news, I just wish I could do it here... I'd like to get a PA job but ever since the CW thing at the beginning of the year, there are even less job opportunities here, let alone entry level

Its hard but you push through it all. Just like me and my mismatched degree. I can't find anything so I went ahead with my CAD Cert. Just gotta find a way to get you over that stubborn wall that keeps coming back. Don't get me wrong, I hate it but there is nothing else that I can do. You can always try to find short cuts but what is beyond that is unknown. If you scale the wall, you can see what is far ahead rather than short cut tunnel vision.

Yea, I have seen many many CAD positions available. I know they are out there and this Cert better help me get one. Else, I will be gone for a year or two at Grad School.

This probably won't help, but at my new job, we're looking to fill 2 planner positions. I work for OKI Data (business printing solutions). I'm not sure if other depts have openings, but I can try and ask around.

Keep your head up, keep searching, keep networking (I hated this word in college, but it really is beneficial). It does get discouraging sometimes when you don't hear back from anyone, but just keep trying. You'll eventually find something that'll fit you well. It took me 3 months to find my current job (even with significant experience), but I'm glad I found this one though. We (employer and I) both knew instantly that we were a good match. I'll let you know if I hear anything. Good luck.

^^ Networking doesn't work in my field for jobs here.. I've been refered to places in New Hampshire, Michigan and Ohio.. there aren't entry level in Phila, it's all 5+ years experience which is why I'm trying to just find something secretarial in nature.. I also don't have 'professional' experience besides Page Ranking, TV studio/film and some advertising print.. when I did PR, part of my job ended up being personal assistant/secretary to keep the President and CEO organized in everything that was going on in our company..

Irene, you're great at it and it seems to make you happy so go for it!!! I was unhappy with my job for a few months so I took my time and found a new job while still employeed at the crappy one. The money was good but the people were cuh-razy.
