Well, assunig that your IC pressure drop is around 2 psi, if you plug your wastegate signal right at the turbo outlet instead than at the manifold, you will actually have this 2 psi substracted to your 5 psi set by the WG which could very well result in 3-4ish psi boost levels.
Then, when (looking for more HP's) you will be at the max of your wastegate setting, remember that you can gain these 2 psi back by plugging the WG to the manifold.

(I did run 4-5 psi during my break-in period with this same exact method and the wastegate spring was a 7-9psi)
