Are you sure it's not a bent hanger. I kinda did the same thing a few weeks ago in a parkinglot late at night. It was a raised manhole cover, but there was tar covering it. I hit part of it and it knocked off 2 hangers. I put them back on and my muffler is angled slightly now. It still rattles on bumps and sharp corners leading me to believe I messed up my hangers. Luckily it's all custom and I'm getting my exhuast quieted down with a longer resonator and re-hung for my S/T bar so it's no big deal.
