I had broken ringlands on three pistons. Many factors contributed to this, but detonation was the main cause. I was using Japans version of the H22A with 10.6:1 comp. pistons. I later found out this was way to high for reliable turbo. In addition to that I used a wastegate with a 9lb spring
. And to put the icing on the cake, it was being fed by a T3/T4 with .48 stage 2 turbine
which is much too small for H22's exhaust discharge. :
